Concepts of Educational Technology EDLD- 5302

EDLD 5302 focuses on helping learners take ownership of their learning through the COVA (Choice, Ownership, Voice, and Authenticity) model. Throughout the course, I explored how digital tools, personal leadership strengths, and authentic learning design come together to create meaningful technology-enhanced learning experiences. Major assignments, such as my Technology Learning Manifesto, Personality & Leadership Philosophy, 1:1 Device Case Study, and course compilation reflection, allowed me to reflect deeply on my beliefs, build my digital identity, and design projects that support innovation in my organization. This course strengthened my ability to lead with purpose, collaborate effectively, and integrate technology in ways that empower both teachers and students.

01

This Learning Manifesto outlines my core beliefs about how students learn and how digital tools can deepen engagement, creativity, and ownership. Inspired by COVA principles and thought leaders like Seth Godin and Sir Ken Robinson, I reflected on what is working in education, what needs to change, and the type of learning environments I want to create. This project helped me clarify my vision for meaningful, student-centered, technology-enhanced learning and connect it to the innovative work I am building through my VR initiative. It serves as a living guide for my teaching and leadership moving forward.

This project explores how my personality traits and leadership style influence the way I lead, teach, and support technology integration. Through assessments such as Myers-Briggs, Enneagram, and temperament profiling, I reflected on how my strengths, strategic thinking, ambition, adaptability, and enthusiasm, shape my approach as a transformational leader. I also examined areas for growth, such as slowing down, nurturing deeper relationships, and balancing achievement with authenticity.

03

In this project, my team developed a comprehensive implementation plan for launching a 1:1 device program in a mid-sized suburban district. We analyzed a real district case study and applied its lessons to design a strategic rollout for providing Chromebooks or iPads to all students in grades 3–12. Our plan addressed every phase of implementation, including planning and communication, infrastructure and connectivity, funding sustainability, professional development, policies and device management, and ongoing evaluation.

This reflection highlights how I grew as both a learner and collaborator throughout EDLD 5302 and 5305. I describe how structured reflection, iterative feedback, and authentic, real-world application strengthened my VR Innovation Plan and deepened my confidence as an educational leader. I also reflect on key contributions I made to my learning community—from supporting classmates and fixing group deliverables to engaging with instructors who encouraged a sense of belonging. This project shows how COVA, growth mindset, and “failing forward” shaped my approach to learning, collaboration, and leadership, and how these experiences prepared me to lead meaningful, student-centered innovation.
